Discussion regarding 2024 billing and coding updates for inpatient and outpatient medicine, with a special focus on billing as a PA. Discusses incident-to billing vs no supervision billing.

Speaker bio: Melanie May is a Certified Professional Coder. She works for Baptist Health as a Quality Improvement Coding and Documentation Specialist and Auditor. She has been in the coding profession for 7 years and in her current role for a year and a half. She reviews documentation for completeness, consistency, medical necessity, accuracy of coding and billing, and compliance to healthcare laws, regulations, and guidelines. She also provides education to practitioners to both keep them abreast of the coding and billing changes and improve upon any areas of deficiency. She truly enjoys getting to meet and converse with practitioners. She enjoys spending time away from work with her husband and their grandchildren or working on one of many craft projects!
